So many people who graced this planet before us left behind words of wisdom, humor and humility. Presidents, entertainers, philosophers, historians, poets and so many other true humanitarians.
When I think of why their words can have such an extreme impact on us, I realize it’s not because they are famous. It’s because the uniqueness in what they said was based on their extraordinary life experiences.
Throughout these experiences, they continually allowed personal growth. Personal growth can be banging at your door in attempts to get your attention to open your mind, your soul and your heart to the lessons you would be experiencing if you only recognized them.
If you don’t recognize the lesson and apply what you’ve learned to your life, you will most likely have to repeat that lesson. From personal experience, most of the time that is not fun… Like retaking the math class you hated last semester but probably could have passed if you had taken advantage of all your resources and given it your best effort.
The following quotes are not only about personal growth, but they are from individuals throughout history I have come to admire and fall back on for advice when I’m not sure which direction I need to go in life’s crazy journey. When I read a quote that moves me, I tuck it away for a time I’m needing guidance, inspiration or a bit of reassurance.
